Rule Changers for 2024
-Pitcher’s pivot foot must be in contact with rubber on “release”
-Pitcher’s landing foot must be on pitcher’s carpet on “release”
-Tag up rule is back
-Instead of X pitches for warm ups, there’s a 60 second timer from last out to next pitch. Get 10 pitches or 0 pitches, up to the pitcher to hustle
-Piching change during inning, only 30 seconds.
-Current 1st to 3rd rule reads
If a ball touches the outfield grass, it’s dead and all runners advance 2 bases
-New 1st to 3rd rule
If a ball touches the outfield grass, a fielder has a chance throw the ball to 3rd in under 5 seconds to keep the runner from advancing.
Fielder may also do this to the backstop to keep runner from scoring from 2nd. (under 5 seconds)
“Fielder throwing ball that has already touched the OUTFIELD to backstop in under 5 seconds holds all runners”
“Fielder throwing ball that has already touched the OUTFIELD to 3rd in under 5 seconds holds just runner on 1st”
