Night Owls Annihilate Bombers

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – The Premier League Wiffle Ball games continued on Thursday night as the Night Owls (6-6) hosted the Bombers (6-9) at Hideaway field in a three game series. Game one started off with Max Fernandez on the mound for the Night Owls and TJ Brown for the Bombers. Night Owls struck first in the second inning with a Grand Slam by AJ Petrovsky in the bottom of the second and continued to pour on the runs thereon-after. Trevor Bauer hit a homerun to get the Bombers on the board but it wasn’t enough and the game ended at 8-2 Night Owls.

Game 2

Following into game 2, James Stein got the nod and would be squaring off against Hollis Hale. Bombers answered first with a solo home run by Hollis Hale to put the Bombers on the board but the Night Owls answered back with “Big Owl” Fernandez coming up to go deep to center with a sac fly to score his son, Max Fernandez. Hollis Hale then found himself in some trouble as he loaded the bases after walking Stein. Up next, AJ Petrovsky hit a three run homerun over the left field fence, bringing the score to 4-1 Night Owls. Stein was able to shut down the rest of the game and secure the win.

Game 3

Leading into game three AJ Petrovsky was given the rock for the Night Owls. The Bombers struck first off of many errors, in addition to Trevor Bauer hitting one to right center for a double, clearing the bases for 3 runs in the first inning. Night Owls answered back with AJ Petrovsky going Ya-Ya again for two runs bringing it to 5-2 Bombers at the end of one. In the second inning Joe Kuether hit a single bringing in Nick Divella, as well as James Stein with a hit to center to bring in Max Fernandez making the score 5-4 Bombers and Night Owls creeping up in the second inning. Bombers stepped up again with Hollis Hale hitting a solo homerun.

Night Owls Nick Divella relieves James Stein on the bump. Trevor Bauer comes up to hit a double knocking in Bruce Hudson bringing the score to 9-4 Bombers. Joe Kuether for the Night Owls got another single to get on base, as AJ Petrovsky came up hitting a double for two RBI’s bringing the score to 9-6. Bombers went down 1,2,3 in the top of the 4th, as the Night Owls got on the board again as James Stein hit a two run homer to left making the score 9-8 Bombers. Game three was a back and forth battle ending with the Bombers winning 9-8 and narrowly avoiding the three game sweep by the Night Owls. At the end of the three game series, the Night Owls came out on top taking two of the three games from the Bombers.
