OPEN Saturday Events
OPEN Pro Circuit events are single-day Saturday tournaments.
These are the foundation of the circuit.
Each regular event gives teams the chance to compete, earn Pro Points, build their ranking, and qualify for bigger events later in the season.
Regular Event Format
Each regular Saturday tournament follows this structure:
3 Games Guaranteed every tournament
Even number of teams = Pool Play or Modified Pool Play
Odd number of teams = 2 Win Qualifier. 0-2 vs 0-2 teams play for $50 credit.
After Pool/Swiss play, the top teams advance to a top 4/8/16/ Single Elimination Playoff
Deadline for Registration is 12 noon EST on Thurs before the event.
Schedules will be randomly drawn LIVE on Twitch on Thursday evening and posted afterwards.
Team Count
Regular events are designed for:
Minimum: 8 teams
Maximum: 32 teams
This allows the tournament to work for both smaller events and larger, sold-out Saturdays.
Entry Fee and OPEN Event Payout
OPEN Event Entry
Entry Fee: $300 per team
OPEN Event Prize Pool
Each Saturday requires a minimum of 8 entries with the prize pool increasing based on the number of entries with a max of 32 teams.
- Open Event Prize Pools Vary between $1,500-$4,000 based on entries (8-32)
- Every Team Earns Pro Points
PLW Pro Points
The PLW Pro Points system is what connects the entire circuit together.
Every regular event feeds into the tournament season leaderboard.
Teams earn points based on event size, where they finish, and how many teams they finish ahead of.
How Pro Points Are Earned
Teams earn:
- +1 point per team entered in the tournament
- +5 points for each team they finish ahead of
- 2nd place receives 2× total points
- 1st place receives 4× total points
This means bigger tournaments are worth more.
Finishing higher matters.
Winning matters a lot.
But teams can still build points across the season by consistently showing up
Why Pro Points Matter
Pro Points are used to determine:
- Leaderboard position
- Qualifying for Invitationals
- Seeding at Invitationals
- Tie breakers at Invitationals
- Pool Selection at Invitationals
- Highest always chooses home or away at Invitationals
The Pro Points leaderboard gives every team something to follow all season.
A team might not win every tournament, but strong finishes can keep them climbing.
A new team can enter the circuit, have one big weekend, and immediately become part of the leaderboard conversation.
A consistent team can build points all year and earn its way into the biggest events.
The 4 Major Event Invitationals
In addition to regular Saturday tournaments, the PLW Pro Circuit includes bigger events throughout the season.
These events are designed to reward top teams, create major moments on the calendar, and give the leaderboard more meaning.
Invitational Pool Schedule Draft: After pools are established, teams will select their pool-play schedule position in order of current Pro Points, from highest to lowest. A team may select any available numbered position within its assigned pool. Once selected, the position and associated schedule are final.
Qualification is based on the official leaderboard at a published cutoff time. If a team declines or is ineligible, the invitation passes to the next eligible team. Invitations cannot be transferred or sold.

End of Year $10,000 Cash Player Awards
The Pro Circuit Player Awards recognize both season-long commitment and elite performance. Total-stat categories reward players who consistently compete throughout the 42-event season, while percentage and rate categories—with minimum qualification requirements—give players with limited availability an opportunity to compete for awards based on performance.
Eligibility, scoring, roster, standings, and statistical disputes must be submitted to the Tournament Director within a specified period. On-field judgment calls are not protestable. PLW’s ruling is final.

- Batting Awards = Min 150 plate appearances
- Pitching Awards = Min 100 innings pitched
- All opens and first 3 invitationals count (Main Event doesn’t count)
- Guest Players stats count toward their totals
- All games, including playoffs count
- Official score keeper at each game has final decision on errors and scoring decisions.
- A play may be appealed to head score keeper but most likely need a clear video clip of the play.
- If a category is tied, a % stat will award most innings/PAs/ect., a raw number stat will award to least innings/ABs/ect.
- Award payments will be sent to the winning players by December 15th 2027
Pro Circuit Teams
Pro Points belong to the registered team and its controlling owner, not to individual players. PLW must approve all ownership transfers, name choices, and changes in team control.
- A team can have 1 owner or 2 co-owners.
- An owner can only have 1 team per year
- The owner controls the team and roster decisions
- An owner may transfer the team to a new owner during the year
- Team names must be APPROVED by PLW and may not be changed during the year
- If an owner quits, PLW may work with team to appoint a new owner
- Teams cannot merge during the tournament season
- Pro Points belong to the team
Tournament Season Roster
Roster Size
Maximum roster size:
12 players
Team owners may add eligible players through the season as long as they have roster spots open. A team can play with 6 in their first tournament in January and continue to add pieces throughout the year. For a player to be eligible, they must not have been on a tournament roster at any point during that tournament season.
Roster Lock
A player is locked to the first Pro Circuit team they play with during that season.
Once a player appears for a team, that player is bound to that team for the Pro Circuit year. Tournament rosters reset at the end of each calendar year.
A player is not officially on a roster until they’ve played a game with that team during that Pro Circuit calendar year.
League vs Tournament
Affiliated teams are the PLW/PCL weeknight league teams and must play with their exact rosters and are not allowed to form all star super teams. An affiliated player is any player on a PLW/PCL weeknight league roster and may only play on that roster for Pro Circuit and no one else.
Independent teams are allowed to form super teams and build their roster out of any unaffiliated players they want as long as they are not on a PLW/PCL league roster. League vs Tournament Relationship Full Detailed Guide
Guest Players
A Guest Player is defined as a rostered or dropped player who’s team isn’t playing that day.
Guest players are allowed in regular Pro Circuit events, but there are limits.
Teams may use up to:
2 guest players
- Guest players carry a 15% Pro Points penalty each.
- Guest players do not count toward a roster spot
Placement multipliers are calculated first. Guest-player penalties are then deducted from the multiplied total, and the final result is rounded up to the nearest whole Pro Point.
This gives teams flexibility when players are unavailable, while still protecting teams that keep a consistent roster throughout the season.
No Guest Players in Major Events
Guest players only allowed in OPEN events and not in any of the 4 invitationals.
Dropping a Player
Teams may drop a player from their roster, but there is a cost.
Dropping a player costs 100 Pro Points*
This rule allows roster movement when needed, but prevents teams from constantly changing rosters without consequence.
A dropped player may then play with anyone as a guest player or they have the option of starting a new team. A maximum of 2 dropped players total can be on a new team and must follow eligibility rules when adding new players.
- A dropped player cannot join an existing Pro Circuit team in the same year.
- The original team cannot re-add the player to the roster later (but can use as a guest player only)
- A team’s pro points can’t go negative. If the 100 points drops below zero, it stays at zero.
If a player is dropped due to a season ending injury, that dropped player will not costs his team 100 points and will be placed on a restricted list, not eligible to be play. If by some miracle he recovers and is able to play, he can be removed from the restricted list, but cannot return to original team that year and will cost his team 100 Pro Points.
*If a dropped player creates a brand new team, 100 Pro Points is returned to original team.
Rules
The PLW Pro Circuit follows the weeknight PLW rules, with adjustments made for tournament play.
- Maximum of 9 innings pitched per pitcher & different starter each game (Pool Play)
- Any appearance counts as a full inning
- Playoffs reset pitchers innings and starters
- In certain events, when two 0-2 face off, a $50 credit will be awarded to that games winner.
- If a team has only 5 players, the 6th spot in the lineup is an out just the 1st time
- If a team has only 4 players, the 5th spot in the lineup is an out EVERY time.
- PLW League suspensions carry over to Pro Circuit events as well.
- Pool play, extra innings start with bases loaded. Playoffs, no runners on, unlimited innings.
Streaming and Main Field Playoffs
The finals, some playoff and featured Pool/Swiss round games will be streamed on the main field.
PLW Media LLC does not guarantee that any team will ever get a chance to play on stream. However, these are the ways to increase the chances of being featured.
- Full matching uniforms, looking sharp and professional from head to toe
- Advertiser friendly teams, no F-bombs, throwing bats, ect
- Teams featuring known former MLB players
- Teams featuring celebrities or well known influencers

*PLW reserves the right to make exceptions for sons, brothers in certain situations to be eligible to play with supervision.
Every player must be eligible under the PLW Pro Circuit roster rules. A player may not participate for more than one team during the same event.
Teams are responsible for confirming the eligibility of every player they use. Using an ineligible player may result in forfeiture, removal from the event, loss of Pro Points, suspension, or additional penalties determined by PLW.
Registration Eligibility
PLW may refuse or cancel the registration of any team or player for reasons including:
- An unpaid entry fee, fine, balance, or other obligation to PLW
- Submission of false or misleading roster information
- Use of an ineligible player
- A current suspension or disciplinary restriction

- Conduct that creates a safety, integrity, or operational concern
- Attempts to manipulate tournament results, standings, Pro Points, or statistics
Player and Team Conduct
Players, owners, coaches, and team representatives are expected to treat opponents, umpires, staff members, broadcasters, volunteers, and the facility with respect.
The following conduct may result in a warning, ejection, game forfeiture, removal from the property, loss of Pro Points, suspension, or permanent removal from PLW events:
- Fighting, threats, intimidation, or physical aggression
- Abusive or discriminatory language
- Excessive arguing with umpires or tournament staff
- Throwing bats or equipment

Teams may not intentionally lose, manipulate runs scored or allowed, improperly share players, arrange a predetermined result, or otherwise influence tournament standings or qualification.
Any agreement between teams or players intended to manipulate a game, ranking, tiebreaker, statistic, prize, or Pro Points result is prohibited.
Ejections and Discipline
An umpire may eject a player, coach, owner, or spectator from a game or playing area. The Tournament Director may remove any person from the event or facility.
An ejection may apply only to the current game or may be extended to additional games or future events depending on the seriousness of the conduct.
PLW may impose penalties including:
- Warning
- Game ejection
- Event removal
- Game forfeiture
- Loss of Pro Points
- Loss of prize money or event credits
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent removal from PLW events
All eligibility and disciplinary decisions made by the Tournament Director or PLW are final.
Uniforms and Equipment
Team Uniforms
Teams are strongly encouraged to wear complete, matching uniforms that present a professional appearance.
White arm sleeves are not allowed.
No more than 25% of a team’s jersey may be white. White pants are allowed. (exceptions for white jerseys may be made for new teams with less than 5 events played). However, no exceptions in Invitationals.
Players on the same team should wear matching or coordinating jerseys. Full matching uniforms, including matching jerseys, pants, and hats, increase a team’s opportunity to be selected for featured or streamed games.
Player names and numbers are encouraged. When jersey numbers are used, each player should have a unique number whenever possible.
Uniforms, team names, logos, and sponsor displays may not contain material that PLW considers obscene, discriminatory, threatening, excessively vulgar, or unsuitable for broadcast or league advertisers.
PLW may require a team to remove, cover, or replace unacceptable clothing, logos, or promotional material before participating or appearing on stream.
Footwear
Metal spikes are prohibited on all PLW fields.
PLW may restrict molded cleats or other footwear on designated turf fields. Players must wear footwear appropriate for the playing surface and must follow all field-specific instructions.
PLW may prohibit any footwear that creates a safety risk or may damage the playing surface.
Bats, Balls, and Playing Equipment
All games will use official WIFFLE® balls approved and supplied by PLW.
Bats and other playing equipment must comply with the applicable PLW playing rules. PLW may inspect any bat or piece of equipment before or during an event.
Altered, illegally modified, unsafe, or unapproved equipment is prohibited. PLW may remove questionable equipment from play at any time.
Players are responsible for their personal equipment and belongings. PLW is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
Protective Equipment
Players may use reasonable protective equipment that does not create an unfair competitive advantage or safety hazard.
PLW or an umpire may prohibit or require the removal of any equipment considered dangerous, distracting, excessively reflective, or unsuitable for competition.
Equipment Violations
Use of illegal or intentionally altered equipment may result in removal of the equipment, an out, player ejection, game forfeiture, suspension, or additional penalties depending on the circumstances.
The Tournament Director has final authority regarding uniforms, footwear, bats, balls, protective equipment, and all other equipment used during an event.
OPEN Event Formats and Tiebreakers
Tournament Format
Every regular Pro Circuit OPEN guarantees each team a minimum of three games unless weather, safety concerns, a team withdrawal, a forfeiture, or another circumstance outside PLW’s reasonable control prevents completion.
The specific tournament format will be determined by the final number of registered teams and may include:
- Pool Play
- Modified Pool Play
- A Two-Win Qualifier
- Another format announced by PLW before the event begins
An even number of teams will generally use Pool Play or Modified Pool Play.
An odd number of teams may use the Two-Win Qualifier format. In this format, teams continue playing until they record two wins and qualify for the playoffs or receive two losses. When scheduled, two teams that begin 0-2 may play an additional game for a $50 future-event credit.
Following the preliminary round, the highest-finishing teams will advance to a four-team, eight-team, or sixteen-team single-elimination playoff. The number of playoff teams will depend on the size and announced format of the event.
PLW will announce the final format, pools, schedule, and number of playoff qualifiers after registration closes.
OPEN Event Tiebreakers
Teams will be ranked following the preliminary round using the following tiebreakers:
- Win-loss record
- Head-to-head result, when applicable
- Fewest runs allowed
- Highest run differential, with no run-differential cap
- Most runs scored
- Random draw conducted by PLW
If teams have played an unequal number of games, winning percentage may be used in place of total wins and losses.
Head-to-head applies only when the tied teams played each other and its use creates a clear resolution of the tie. It will not be used when it produces a circular result among three or more teams.
If a multi-team tie is reduced to two teams after applying a tiebreaker, the remaining teams will continue through the listed tiebreakers rather than restarting from the beginning.
Final Event Ranking
A final ranking of every participating team will be published after each OPEN event.
Playoff results determine the finishing order of teams that advance to the single-elimination bracket. Teams eliminated in the same playoff round will be ranked using their preliminary-round record and the OPEN event tiebreakers.
Teams that do not advance to the playoffs will also be ranked using their preliminary-round record and the OPEN event tiebreakers.
The resulting final ranking will determine how many teams each team officially finished ahead of for purposes of calculating Pro Points.
Forfeits, withdrawals, disqualifications, incomplete games, or unusual tournament circumstances will be ranked as determined by PLW based on the announced format and completed results.
Pro Points Calculation
Pro Points are awarded at regular Pro Circuit OPEN events. Invitationals, including the PLW Main Event, do not award Pro Points.
After each OPEN event, PLW will publish an official final ranking of every participating team. This final ranking determines how many teams each team finished ahead of and serves as the basis for calculating Pro Points.
Base Pro Points
Each team’s base Pro Points are calculated as follows:
- 1 point for every team entered in the tournament
- 5 additional points for every team the team finishes ahead of
For example, in a 12-team tournament:
- Every team begins with 12 points
- First place finishes ahead of 11 teams and receives 55 additional points
- Second place finishes ahead of 10 teams and receives 50 additional points
Placement Multipliers
After base points are calculated:
- First place receives four times its base Pro Points
- Second place receives two times its base Pro Points
- All other teams receive their base Pro Points without a placement multiplier
Using a 12-team tournament as an example:
- First place: 12 + 55 = 67 base points; 67 × 4 = 268 Pro Points
- Second place: 12 + 50 = 62 base points; 62 × 2 = 124 Pro Points
- Third place: 12 + 45 = 57 Pro Points
Guest-Player Penalties
A team using one guest player receives a 15% reduction in its final event Pro Points.
A team using two guest players receives a 30% reduction in its final event Pro Points.
Placement multipliers are calculated before guest-player penalties. After all applicable guest penalties are deducted, the final total is rounded up to the nearest whole Pro Point.
Guest-player statistics remain official and count toward the player’s yearly statistical totals and individual award qualification.
Official Results
Pro Points are based on the final event rankings published by PLW.
PLW may correct scoring, roster, mathematical, or reporting errors after initial results are posted. PLW may also reduce or remove Pro Points because of an ineligible player, forfeiture, withdrawal, disqualification, conduct violation, or other penalty.
Invitationals do not award Pro Points. In Invitational pool play, teams are ranked first by win-loss record and then by their current Pro Points total. Additional tiebreakers, if required, will be announced for the event.
Pro Points remain with the registered Pro Circuit team and are governed by the team ownership and roster provisions.
Register Your Team
Teams can register for individual Pro Circuit events or follow the full season schedule.
Each event is limited to available team spots.
Regular events are capped at 32 teams.
Once an event is full, teams may be placed on a waitlist.
Players are not roster locked until they’ve played an official Pro Circuit event with that team.
Registration for all events opens January 1st of each calendar year.
Final Pitch
The PLW Pro Circuit is more than a tournament.
It is a full wiffleball circuit with weekly events, rankings, stats, prize money, media coverage, major invitationals, and a $50,000* Main Event with another $10,000 end of year player awards.
