What Is the Florida Challengers League?

The Florida Challengers League is a competitive fall season built for teams and individual players who want more games, more reps, more competition, and a real path into the PLW league system.

Instead of waiting for the next monthly tournament, teams will be able to play official league games throughout the fall season.

The fall season gives players a chance to compete consistently before the full PLW Weeknight Stream League launches in January.

10 Teams will be invited into the main PLW Stream league

Teams will be evaluated on

  • Standings
  • Attendance and reliability
  • Sportsmanship
  • Organization
  • Professionalism
  • Roster stability
  • Communication with league staff
  • Ability to follow league rules
  • Competitive level
  • Team identity / marketability
  • Overall fit for the PLW Stream League

Full Stats, Standings & League Leaders

Every official Florida Challengers League game will be tracked.

The season will include:

Team standings

Win/loss records

Batting stats

Pitching stats

League leaders

Player profiles

Team results

Season rankings

Players will start building their PLW profile during the fall season.

That means your performance will not disappear after one tournament. Your games, stats, and results will start becoming part of your player identity inside the PLW system.

Flexible Fall Scheduling

The Florida Challengers League is built around flexible schedules.

Teams can play official games through:

Weeknight series

Weekend games

Scheduled team matchups

Approved challenge games

The goal is to give teams more chances to play without forcing every team into one rigid weekly schedule.

Once lights are fully available, more weeknight windows will open up.

Until then, games will be scheduled based on field availability, team availability, and approved league windows.

Up to 100 Official Fall Games

The fall season may include up to 100 official league games between August 10 and December 4.

Play each team up to 12 times depending on team availability (6 home/6 away)

These games will count toward:

Standings

Player stats

Team records

League leaders

January league evaluation

PLW / PCL placement

Only approved official league games will count toward stats and standings.

Full Teams Can Join

If you already have a team, you can enter the Florida Challengers League as a full roster.

This is a chance for your team to:

Play more games

Build chemistry

Get ranked

Track stats

Compete against other local teams

Make a case for the January PLW Weeknight League

Teams that want to be taken seriously for January should use the fall season to show they can compete, communicate, show up, and represent the league the right way.

New Player Tryouts Day — August 8

Tryouts Day will take place Saturday, August 8 in Brooksville, Florida.

This is for individual players looking to get involved in the Florida Challengers League and the future PLW system.
